To say it was a mistake was an understatement. To doit more than once, was a lapse in judgment. To do it every week since the guild disbanded was just sheer stupidity. Yeah, that’s what it was, nothing but sheer stupidity. And as much as they wanted to stop, they knew that they had gone down the rabbit hole together. Her lips, drunk on alcohol had made him drunk as well. His eyes, one covered in its signature scar, had left her mesmerized every time she looked at him. The sheets falling off the bed after she had gripped it tightly were just reminders of them. On for one brief moment, but eventually brought down by an outside force.
She called his name in pure ecstasy, nibbling his lobe as fingers caressed at his muscular arms. He held her tightly, but never hard enough to leave a mark. That was the rule, no bruises. As much as she wanted to claim his neck and he wanted to leave his bites over her perfect bosom. Breaking the rule would bring nothing but trouble.
He had his team, people who depended on him and who needed to see him as the collected leader he was. A mark would mean certain teasing from the Seith Mage, a lecture about being proper from their Stone Fairy and tears welling down the Rune mage’s eyes and that was the last thing he needed. She had her father, who was missing but who could come back at any moment and kill the Lighting Dragon for treating her as a booty call.
Not to mention the biggest obstructions, namely two people they were with. She had been traveling with her best friend, the white take-over demon who held affection for the one in the card mages’ arms. Breaking Mirajane’s heart would be the worst thing to feel, knowing that she caused her friend pain. He had Mira. She had Bacchus. Her Drunk Falcon never really spent much time with her, but that wasn’t his fault. It’s just how they decided to keep it. Cana doesn’t do relationships.
Time and again they asked each other why they had done this to begin with. One look of the others eyes had given them the same response over, they needed to be with each other. Both lost their mothers at young ages, both held regret for what they had done in their past. He, placing his guild in danger; she, putting one of her closest friends at the brink of death. But as many times as they tried to forget each other, they couldn’t stay away. He held the spade buckle she gave him once he passed his S-Class exam, he taught her Lighting magic, the Jolt of Fate and one of her strongest attacks. They both held two of the strongest attacks in Fairy Tail history, Fairy Law and Fairy Glitter. Not to mention, their first kiss, the first of many after her losing her exam against him.
She looks up at the man with lust and love in her lavender eyes. As much as she wanted him to stay, she knew that she was cursed. She would repeat the same history as Cornelia. While the medics had told her that she died of an infection, Cana knew her mother had died of a broken heart. He looks at her, his orange orbs telling him that she’s too good to be with him. She is the sweet sin he can’t get enough of, better than any nectar, any sweet puff of cigar or any bottle of ale can compare but he knows.
She’s the Drunk and he’s the Lightning Dragon. A story faulted from the beginning. But for now, they don’t care, because he is hers and she is his. If only for one night.
